The Country Heart tour continues as we make our stop today in Austin, TX. We will be donating a guitar to Lifeworks. Shelter #77. LifeWorks advocates for more than 4,000 youth and families, many of whom are facing life’s most difficult challenges, including homelessness, trauma, and abuse. On any given night, they shelter or house more than 140 youth, but the need is much greater. There are more than 1,600 homeless youth in Austin every year. Sarahs House is a beacon of hope and support in Pasadena, TX, dedicated to providing essential food and shelter to those in need. They have an unwavering commitment to families that ensures comprehensive assistance to help them rebuild their lives.

Giving Guitars will make a stop here to visit the residents and staff, tour the facility and donate a guitar. We are excited to bring hope through guitars and music to Sarah’s house. It will be our 76th shelter to visit.

Thank you all so much for all the warm Birthday wishes!! Today for a birthday present to me I am going to have a songwriting session with Scott Barrier and John Ashburn, it is my labor of love. Happy Labor Day to all of you! It has happened in the past that Labor Day fell on my birthday but it has always fallen over the the Labor Day weekend! I always thought it was interesting that my mom, God rest her soul, was in labor on Labor Day weekend. Here is a photo of my beautiful family in front of the leaning tower. On that day I had the best Italian tuna sandwich possibly ever known to man kind. Excited to highlight Shelter #73: This weekend I will be singing the National Anthem at the Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis for the Dodge Power Brokers NHRA US Nationals AND donating to 2 shelters. On Saturday, Sept 2nd we’ll be at The Holy Family Shelter. They serve over 1,000 people each year & address the increasing demand for emergency shelter by providing residential services to assist homeless families transition into permanent housing & a life of self-sufficiency. We will be performing some songs for the residents and donating a guitar. Indianapolis, here we come! I will be singing the National Anthem for the Lucas Oil Raceway. While in town Giving Guitars is going to donate to some family homeless shelters. On Friday Sept 1st at 2PM we will be at the Horizon House. This organization supports its neighbors experiencing homelessness with integrated, comprehensive services so they can secure and maintain housing. We will be visiting their shelter, performing some songs for the residents and donating a guitar. This will be our 72nd shelter to visit and Indiana will be our 16th state.
